Afghan Deputy Ministerappointed as Kabul Governor

KABUL (Khaama Press): Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, the Deputy Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs has been named as the new governor of Kabul province, per a decree from Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of authorities in Afghanistan.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the incumbent administration, tweeted that the group’s supreme leader, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, has appointed the governor of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
According to the news release, the newly appointed governor of Kabul previously served as the new government’s Deputy Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs.
The statement by Mujahid also announced the appointment of another high-ranking government position. According to the decree by Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, Mawlawi Zahir Khan Khadim has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education in Student Affairs.
Since assuming control of Afghanistan, the new administration has been appointing, dismissing, and reappointing officials to different high-ranking positions.
Mawlawi Neda Mohammad Nadim, a former Kabul governor, was recently named as the government’s Minister of Higher Education, while Abdul Baqi Haqqani, the UN-sanctioned Minister of Higher Education, was appointed to another high-ranking position as part of the government’s political patronage system.
