Taliban leader reshuffles six judicial and administrative officials

KABUL (Amu tv): The Taliban’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, has reassigned six senior judicial and administrative officials, according to a statement by the Taliban.

The appointments include Noorullah Munir, the former head of the Taliban’s Dar al-Ifta, named deputy chief justice for judicial affairs; Sardar Mohammad Abu al-Faizan, previously deputy chief justice, shifted to Taliban deputy for military affairs; Sakhaullah Saeed, Taliban’s former deputy minister for teacher training and general education, moved to deputy chief justice for administrative and financial affairs; Abdul Malik Haqqani, formerly a deputy at the Taliban Supreme Court, reassigned as deputy minister for teacher training; Khair Jan Khairkhwa, the Taliban’s former deputy for military affairs, appointed head of Dar al-Ifta; and Sharafuddin Yasini, previously Taliban chief judge for the southern zone, promoted to head of the appeals chamber for the southeast.

The reshuffle reflects a pattern of internal rotation rather than broad structural changes. Since seizing power in 2021, the Taliban have frequently moved senior officials from one post to another, while the group’s opaque system of governance remains tightly controlled by Akhundzada from Kandahar.
