LAHORE: In a first, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed to digitalize all housing scheme across the province.
She gave these directives while presiding over a special meeting in Lahore on Saturday.
The participants of the meeting reviewed a mechanism to regularize all illegal housing societies in Punjab.
The participants agreed to constitute a high-level committee to convert all illegal housing schemes into regularization.
A housing management system will be introduced in the province. Now citizens will avail facility for approval of housing society, management and online transfer.
After uploading of all necessary documents, NOC fee will also deposited through online.
Development and management will be possible through housing society management system.
The participants reviewed different options for fool-proof procedure for development and management of housing societies.
Through these measures people will buy or sale a plot with complete security.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, Maryam Nawz said that poor people paid money to purchase a plot but they failed to get a plot.
She said that government departments are equally responsible for creation of illegal housing societies.
Maryam Nawaz said that after collaboration with government departments these illegal housing societies were created and now common people is facing the consequences.
She said that when these illegal housing societies were being developed why was government’s department fail to perform their duties.
She said that all outstanding issues of those housing societies which are almost complete should be solved on priority basis.
Maryam Nawaz said as per law one time amnesty will be granted to these housing societies.
During the briefing, the CM was informed that there are 7905 housing societies covering an area of 20 lakh canals.
She was further informed that currently 2687 housing societies obtained approval while 5118 housing societies are illegal or their cases are under process.
She was informed that 427 housing schemes out of 707 obtained LDA approval 206 illegal and cases of 74 schemes are under process.
