ZABUL (TOLONews): Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the prime minister of the Islamic Emirate, during the inauguration of the second phase of the Sheikh Mati Migrant Township in Zabul, stated that the Islamic Emirate’s main focus is on the reconstruction of the country.
At the event, Hanafi said that all officials in the caretaker government are servants of the people.
He said: “Officials are currently focused on development efforts. The focus is on how we can rebuild this country that has been destroyed over the past 45 to 50 years.”
Meanwhile, Hamdullah Nomani, the acting minister of urban development and housing, said at the same event that the distribution of land to returnees has begun in 25 provinces.
He added: “This township spans 4,321 jeribs of land and includes the design of 2,953 plots.”
At the same time, local officials in Zabul called for greater attention from the central government to the province.
Mohebullah Hamas, deputy governor of Zabul, said: “In Zabul, the underground water level has dropped, and water is found at depths of 200 meters, and in some areas, up to 250 meters. If a water dam is constructed, the water level across the areas from Shah Joi to the center will rise.”
Azizullah Tayyib, head of the Zabul Ulema Council, said: “Most government offices in this province lack their own buildings and operate out of rental properties. Although there is ample land for constructing buildings, there are issues with the legal processing of the land.”
According to local officials, in the second phase of the Sheikh Mati Migrant Township, around 4,000 jeribs of land will be distributed to returnees.
