PESHAWAR: Deputy Director Operations Sports Jamshed Baloch, Administrator Qayyum Stadium Peshawar Syed Jafar Shah Friday said that providing international quality sports facilities is the first priority of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
This he said while addressing the ongoing Young Sports Reporters Training Program being organized by Pakistan Sports Writers Federation with the collaboration of Sports Writers Association here at China Window.
To work for the welfare of the youth, this is the reason why the government allocated more than 26 billion funds for the construction of international level sports facilities and established separate sports gymnasiums for women in all seven divisions of the province.
He said that sports journalism has played a huge role in the promotion of sports in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the credit of which goes to sports writers, who are playing their active role in this connection.
The first priority of the Pakhtunkhwa government is to ensure sports facilities to the youth from Dera Ismail Khan to Chitral and even in the merged tribal areas. He said that from Dera Ismail Khan to Chitral, the first priority of the current government is to work for the welfare of the youth.
Pakistan Cycling Federation President Syed Azhar Ali Shah while speaking on this occasion said that sports journalists have a key role in the promotion of sports, highlighting the talented players besides indicating any wrong doing of the government.
He advised young sports journalists that they should get aware of every game rules, regulations, scoring or points. He said whether it is cycling or any other game, for good coverage it is necessary to be aware of these games.
He said close coordination of sports organizations, players and sports journalists is the guarantee of success of any event.(APP)
