BERLIN (TASS): Afghanistan is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe, Germany will help the population and continue to try to evacuate those in need of protection from the country. This was announced on Thursday in Berlin by German Foreign Minister Annelena Berbock.
“It would be a mistake to think that the crisis has been overcome,” she said. “The situation on the ground has not improved, on the contrary, many people live in daily fear. 24 million people need humanitarian assistance.”
Berbock recalled that Germany has already provided € 600 million for the humanitarian needs of the Afghan population.
