500 vulnerable families in Kunar provided with solar stoves by UNDP

KUNAR (TOLOnews): At least 500 vulnerable people were provided with assistance from the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) in the eastern province of Kunar, local officials in Kunar said.
The residents welcomed the United Nation Development Program (UNDP)’s assistance.
“They provided us with seeds, garlic,” said Hazaratullah Habib, a resident of Sarkano district.
“We are planting vegetables to resolve the problems of our families,” said Noor Mohammad, a resident of Sarkano district.
The provincial department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock said that the solar stoves were distributed to the residents to prevent the arbitrary cutting of trees in the province.
“This aid is very important for the economic development, particularly the economic conditions of women,” said Hedayatullah, head of the department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
